At Big Bear Garage Door Services we are always concerned for the overall safety of you and your family.
That’s why we created this page…
Garage doors can be dangerous. Please don’t ever touch the springs or cables attachment.
Never assume that changing a spring is a simple job. In 2007 over 10,000 people in the United States were seriously injured trying to fix their broken springs (including unskilled handymen).
The same is true for your cables and rollers.
Keep in mind the cables are under pressure and trying to take them off, or replace a roller while under pressure can be very dangerous.
Other safety procedures to follow are…
-
Don’t ever back up until you are sure the door is completely up.
- Don’t ever let children know how to reach the door operator control.
- Don’t let children play on the door or hang on the door.
- Never put in light bulbs that are more than 60 watt in the socket of your operator.
